From shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico to human-centered brand storytelling
What is Bridgit at International Bridge?
Bridgit is a brand character created by International Bridge to bring clarity and warmth to e-commerce shipping.
She helps humanize small parcel shipping to non-continental U.S. destinations like Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico by translating complex logistics into clear, approachable stories.
A spark in the meeting room: Humanizing e-commerce shipping
At IB, logistics isn’t just about parcels—it’s about people.
As a company focused on e-commerce shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico, we believe clarity and human connection matter just as much as speed and cost. Sometimes, the best way to explain complex shipping is not with more data, but with a story.
And this one started with a spark.
It was just another Tuesday at IB—or so it seemed.
MarCom team (IB’s Marketing Communications team), the creative engine behind messaging, visuals, blogs, social media, and brand voice, was gathered in the meeting room. This team’s role is simple to say but complex to do: take IB’s mission and turn it into sights, sounds, and words people remember.
That day, a new idea landed on the table.
What if IB had a friendly face to represent us?
Not just a logo or a tagline, but a personality. Someone who could speak for us—and to our customers—especially when shipping feels complicated or unfamiliar.
The spark didn’t come from MarCom alone. Like most meaningful ideas at IB, this one was built through interdependence. Operations shared real-world shipping challenges. Sales shared what customers struggle to understand. IT highlighted where clarity matters most. From that shared space of collaboration and curiosity, Bridgit emerged—cheerful, approachable, and ready to say ‘Aloha’ to the world.
From the moment she appeared on whiteboard sketches, we knew she had a story to tell.
Why Bridgit exists in e-commerce shipping
Shipping can feel complicated, especially when it comes to destinations like Alaska, Hawaii, or shipping to Puerto Rico, where transit times, pricing structures, and service expectations are not always intuitive.
One of our key goals was to bring more warmth and humanity into the cold world of logistics.
Bridgit is more than a mascot. She is a guide, a translator, and a storyteller. She helps bridge the gap between technical shipping details and real human understanding. Whether we are explaining small parcel shipping, onboarding a new customer, or sharing an internal update, Bridgit helps make information easier to absorb and trust.
You will see her across blogs, explainer videos, onboarding materials, and internal communications—wherever clarity and approachability can make a difference.
The creative journey behind IB’s shipping brand
Bridgit’s creation was not just a design exercise. It was an extension of IB’s brand story.
Her shape is intentional. It mirrors the diamond in our logo—a symbol of connection, precision, and movement. If you have read our blog The story of ParcelPool: A journey with the diamond, you already know this shape is part of our identity, not decoration.
By giving Bridgit the same silhouette, we tied her directly to IB. She is not just from IB—she is of IB.
The creative process brought together copywriting, design, brand strategy, and a healthy amount of humour. We decided our diamond deserved more than sitting still. It needed a personality, a smile, and a name.
Since we are the International Bridge, “Bridgit” felt right (say “bridge it” fast—it clicks!). After a few design “fashion shows” and plenty of debate, the Bridgit you see today was born.
Celebrating with the MarCom team behind the scenes
Bridgit may be one of the newer faces of IB, but she reflects the work of a deeply experienced and diverse MarCom team.
As the team behind IB’s social media, visuals, blogs, and brand storytelling, MarCom plays a central role in how our e-commerce shipping solutions are understood and trusted.
One of MarCom’s Communications Coordinators has been with IB for 19 years—a living archive of our company’s story, operations, and evolution. Alongside her, marketing strategists, advertising specialists, and digital media experts each brought their own perspective and craft to the table.
This idea was not about creating something “cute.” It was about solving a real challenge: how to explain logistics clearly, build trust, and connect with people—especially when serving non-continental destinations.
While MarCom was the creative engine, the energy came from across the whole IB. Insights from every department helped shape Bridgit into a character that genuinely reflects who we are.
Bridgit in action: from sketch to screen
Bridgit did not stay on the whiteboard for long.

Her first public appearance was at a business-run event, where teams from different companies competed side by side. She appeared on our t-shirts with the slogan “Run fast, ship faster.” For many participants, it was their first introduction to IB—and to Bridgit.
Since then, she has moved from fabric to screens. We have brought her to life through videos and animations that make our story more approachable and memorable.
🎥 From sketch to screen:
In this video, Bridgit gently walks through what Non-Con shipping means, showing how businesses can confidently reach destinations beyond the mainland, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Bridgit charmingly cuts through the logistics complexity, showing a simple way for businesses to reach millions of customers in Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico while keeping shipping costs down. The video highlights how smarter routing and thoughtful logistics can deliver up to 30% in savings, making non-continental shipping feel easier, more accessible, and more rewarding.
Why mascots work in B2B logistics and parcel shipping
In a world of faceless brands, mascots give companies personality—even in B2B.
For IB, Bridgit helps us:
- make technical topics—like shipping to Alaska and non-continental delivery—easier to understand.
- keep a consistent, human tone across platforms and audiences.
- build stronger recall so that important information actually sticks.
She helps us stay approachable without oversimplifying what we do.
The journey ahead
Bridgit is just getting started.
You will see her across our content—from educational blog posts about shipping to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Alaska to guides explaining our e-commerce shipping solutions in a clear, human way.
As e-commerce continues to grow and expectations rise, how we communicate matters more than ever. Bridgit helps us make complex shipping feel clearer, warmer, and more human—without losing precision.
She is packed, ready, and excited for the road ahead. And so are we, as we keep building smarter, friendlier ways to move e-commerce forward.
